In Control

The obsessive illusion of being in control of a state of impermanence, a state of constant change.

This piece is composed by assembling objects of different materials and history.

A casted clear solid glass made at the Glass Foundry in Stroud during my residency, leaning on top of a commercial yellow sponge.
A piece of ceramics made by combining together distinct types of clay coming from different backgrounds: porcelain, terracotta, white stoneware and Raku clay.
An antique wooden milking stool.

A synthetic strap holds the pieces together in a seemingly precarious condition.

Glass, ceramics, wood, foam, polypropylene webbing, metal; 40 x 50 x 110 cm; POA.
